Libraries of all types have embraced Web 2.0 tools to provide innovative online services and reach out to their users. Academic libraries in particular have a unique opportunity to leverage the technologies and philosophy that drives Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 to meet the needs of their users. Join our panel of practitioners and experts as we explore some of the cutting-edge ways in which academic libraries are using Web 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, mashups, social bookmarking, and online social networks. This interactive session will also focus on some of the challenges around implementing these technologies such as getting buy-in from staff, administration, and patrons. A worthwhile workshop for those interested in implementing changes to keep up with the 2.0 world.

The Academic Library 2.0 Unconference

We'll have at least an hour at the end of the day to answer questions and get some discussion going on the topics we've covered (or any other 2.0 topics, for that matter!). Each of the speakers will be available for a roundtable discussion on their presentation topics, so if we don't get to your questions throughout the day, save them for the unconference! Participants are also free to roam from conversation to conversation, depending on their own interests :)
